A frightening crash took place during the 24 hours of the NĂźrburgring.
A driver was taken to the hospital after a major crash on the NĂźrburgring Nordschleife, who recently called Max Verstappen âtoo dangerousâ for Formula 1. The legendary circuit is almost 21 kilometers long and is known as perhaps the heaviest circuit in the motorsport. The circuit, nicknamed De Groene Hell, has built up a formidable reputation for its intimidating layout and ruthless character.
Last weekend the 24 hours of the NĂźrburgring was held, where a driver was rushed to the hospital after a frightening accident. In the second half of the race, Kevin Estre was behind the wheel of the leading Porsche when he collided with the Aston Martin van Rolf Scheibner. This caused an enormous chaos, where the Aston Martin bumped into a crash barrier at high speed and then hit several times.

Eventually the vehicle came to a halt on the edge of the circuit, still upside down. Scheibner was taken to the hospital for the severity of the accident, but he was reportedly unharmed.

In the meantime, Estre received a 100 -second punishment for his role in the crash. However, his team chose not to sit out before the end of the race and instead to keep his position to the checkered flag while he appealed against the ruling.
Their protest was eventually rejected, causing them to miss the victory, even though they were the first to cross the finish line. The honor went to the BMW, governed by Augusto Farfus, Jesse Krohn, Raffaele Marciello and Kelvin van der Linde.
It comes just a few days after Verstappen continued that the Nordschleife of the NĂźrburgring was far too dangerous for a modern Formula 1 race. The race was regularly on the calendar until 1976, but was then deleted for safety reasons.
âWith the Formula 1 cars that we have now, that will really not happen, I fear,â Verstappen said when he was asked about his thoughts about a possible return to Formula 1.
It is easy to do with GT3 speed. I have seen old images, also from Formula 1 on the Nordschleife. One thing is certain: Formula 1 there, that never happens again. Far too dangerous.
Verstappen has never hid his love for the Nordschleife. He recently participated in a private test on the circuit under the pseudonym Franz Hermann. He finally set a rounder record and attracted the attention with his immense skill and courage.
