PSG targets a new Thuram: Nasser Al-Khelaïfi wants to hit hard, Juventus sets a shock price!
The summer transfer window is shaping up to be a busy one in the French capital. According to several sources close to the matter, Paris Saint-Germain have officially begun efforts to recruit Khéphren Thuram , a talented young midfielder currently playing for Juventus .
Son of legend Lilian Thuram and younger brother of Marcus Thuram, Khéphren has established himself as one of the most promising midfielders of his generation. Having arrived at Juventus a year ago, the former Nice player impressed at the last
“He’s a profile we really like. He embodies the new generation of French football, with a strong identity and plenty of room for improvement,” a member of the Parisian staff reportedly confided on condition of anonymity.
An ambitious offer, a Turin wall
PSG are reportedly ready to put forward an ambitious offer of around €35 million , with performance-related bonuses. However, Juventus do not seem willing to part with their French star so easily.
Indeed, the Bianconeri management have reportedly set a starting price of over €55 million , sending shockwaves through the Parisian board. A sum deemed “excessive” by some close to the capital club, especially for a player who is still young and has not yet fully confirmed his place on the European stage.
English competition and complex case
As if that weren’t enough, several English clubs are also reportedly following developments closely. Teams like Liverpool and Arsenal have already expressed interest in Khéphren Thuram, which could further complicate negotiations.
“It won’t be an easy task. There’s competition, Juve wants to keep their player, and Paris will have to be convincing on both a sporting and financial level,” says an Italian journalist close to the Turin club.
Strategic recruitment
Despite these obstacles, PSG does not intend to give up. The club wants to strengthen a midfield that is sometimes considered inconsistent, and the arrival of Khéphren Thuram could represent a bet on the future , in line with the recruitment of young French talents like Warren Zaïre-Emery.
If the transfer goes through, it would also be a nice media coup for Paris, which would attract another member of the Thuram dynasty , very popular with French supporters.
A case to follow very closely in the coming weeks…
